Improving Your Customer Relationship Management with Blogging Technology By : The Master Blog Builder

Improving Your Customer Relationship Management with Blogging TechnologyBy: The Master Blog Builder

Before I address the following questions: What is a blog? and What can a blog do for your organization?, let me pose a few "What if . . ." questions to you.
Keeping in mind that before your prospects and customers buy from you, they need to know you, like you, and trust you. In other words, they need to know, whether overtly or covertly, that they have a trusting and ongoing relationship with you. What better way to accomplish for them to get to know you, trust you, and like you than with a blog?
Now, here are my "What if . . ." questions:
* What if less than two minutes after creating and publishing your blog, it were to be promoted to thousands of prospects without any extra effort or cost on your part?
* What if your blog gave you immediate access to hundreds of international prospects?
* What if you had immediate access to hundreds of prospects in your city, state, or country who had interests and hobbies similar to yours?
* What if every time someone clicks on a hyperlinked keyword in your Profile that describes your hobbies, occupation, industry, favorite books, movies, music, or artist, your blog pops up?
* What if every time you left a comment on someone elses blog, you could leave a hyperlink to your website, blog, or email? (a mini no-cost commercial!)
* What if whenever someone enters your name or business name (completely or partially) into a major search engine, your website or blog pops up in their search results?
* What if every time you post content on your blog, it would bypass the spam filters and instantaneously appear on your subscribers desktop without any extra effort or cost on your part? (- an excellent opportunity to get your sales, special messages, or time-sensitive announcements into their hands, or actually in front of their eyes!)
* What if your satisfied customers had the opportunity to place their self-generated testimonies on your blog? (Although some will take the initiative to do so, others might need encouragement. That's all right. Just make an incentive opportunity of it! Offer some incentive for their efforts.)
By now you should be beginning to see the powerful marketing potential a blog offers you. These are just some of the powerful customer relationship management features a blog offers you.
But wait! There's yet more!
* What if you were to combine these powerful features with other online and offline efforts such as a blogathon, teleseminar, webinar, online articles, and others?
* What if doing so would enhance your customer relationship management?
* What if doing so would decrease returns and refunds?
* What if doing so would increase sales?
Think about it! I realize that successful marketing and sales are still high-touch entities; however, I also realize that when you combine your high-tech efforts with your high-touch efforts, you're bound to be successful!!!
Now to answer the original questions, What is a blog? and What can a blog do for your business?:
A blog, short of web log, is an interactive web-based journal that encourages participation from viewers. It looks like and does everything a website does and more! A blog serves as an excellent supplement to your website and other marketing efforts. Entries, called posts, are published by date on the page according to your predetermined quantity and are archived in the margin according to your predetermined frequency.
A blog offers your business countless marketing options. Specifically, a blog:
* gives viewers, prospects, customers, and subscribers who might have had difficulty in the past immediate access to you.
* helps to reduce your time spend distributing emails and other messages.
* improves your content delivery rates by 100%.
* improves your search engine rankings.
* publishes constantly fresh content.
* bypasses spam filters completely.
* improves your online visibility.
* enhances your web presence.
* generates more visitors.
and more . . .
So, if you don't already have a blog, I only have one question for you: What are you waiting for? !?
Don't let this cutting-edge technology, this powerful marketing tool, pass you by. Online companies are popping up all over the internet offering you free blogs. My recommendation is that you grab one, or two or more! Most, if not all, are extremely easy to create, but may be time-consuming, according to your already hectic schedule, to maintain.
If that's the case in your situation, you might want to call in outside help. Consider the high school computer techie next door, or the college-age computer-major son or daughter of a friend who could always use a few extra bucks.
I leave you with this wish: May you always be successful in looking for and using new and creative ways to maximize your earning potential.
Remember: When you maximize your potential, we all win! When you don't, we all lose.

Top 7 Tools for Bloggers By : Jinger Jarrett

Top 7 Tools for BloggersBy: Jinger Jarrett

Although blogging and RSS seems to be a hot topic these days, only about five percent of American internet users actually use it.
From both a business and personal perspective though, blogs and RSS have a lot to offer for the average internet user.
The main reason is that by using RSS, you can cut down on the amount of email that you receive. You can receive a lot of your news in the form of headlines.
Blogs can tell you what people are thinking about, and what they're really interested in. This is an effective tool for marketers. If you're looking to meet new people, this can also be an excellent way to meet others who share common interests.
It's not really necessary to understand what blogging and RSS are.
Blogs are nothing more than online diaries. They can be used to talk about business trends or any other topic.
RSS is a form of website code that is search engine friendly and can be read in a special type of browser called an RSS reader. As I said before, this is a great way to receive news on just about anything you're interested in.
If the thought of keeping an online journal or using blogs to discuss your business interest you, then I have some great tools that will make your blogging experience a lot easier.
1. Blog buildingBefore you build a blog, you need to decide how you want to host it.
If you're not interested in the technical aspects involved, you can always sign up for a free account on a blogging site.
The most popular is Blogger - http://www.blogger.com
If you'd like to build your own, there are several different ones you can try including Word Press ande Nucleus.
Before you choose a blogging script, I recommend you try different ones to see which one you like best.
Open Source CMS - http://www.opensourcecms.com - offers several different types of scripts you can try to find the blog script that's the right fit for you.
The most important feature in a blog script is that it's search engine friendly.
2. Blog editingThis may not seem that important. After all, you can just go right to your site and post.
Sounds easy right? Maybe not if editing HTML is as alien to you as the notion of learning to build a blog in the first place.
Try this tool to help you post to your blog. It offers you a WYSIWYG editor, which means that you can write and edit at the same time, and it you'll see exactly how your blog post looks as you are writing.
Blog Editing Toolbar - http://www.aspmodules.com/at/bloginfo.asp - This tool will help you easily edit your blog without knowing HTML. All you need is IE 6, and the install is quick and easy.
3. Blog PostingMaybe you don't find the idea of posting online very appealing. As a writer I can't imagine being without my word processor.
If you'd rather have a desktop tool, instead of writing your blog from the control panel, this tool is for you.
wBlogger - http://www.wblogger.com - is an excellent application for helping you create blog posts, and you don't have to be online to write posts for your blog.
You create your post and save it for when you are ready to post. This is especially convenient if you don't have time to write everyday.
4. Blog SubscriptionsAlthough RSS is slowly becoming popular, many still like to receive an email. The problem is that many of the autoresponder systems you can use either don't include RSS, or RSS autoresponders can be expensive.
Below are two tools where you can copy and paste a subscription box onto your site and visitors can subscribe for updates.
http://www.feedblitz.com/http://www.bloglet.com
5. RSS GeneratorsIf your blog application doesn't create a feed automatically, you may have to make one. It's really much easiser than it sounds.
With this application, you just enter your information and click submit. This is especially useful if you want to create a feed for your website.
RSS Feed Generator - http://www.rsstoolchest.com/rss-feed-generator/
6. Blog and Ping ApplicationsYou use these applications to let the blog and RSS directories know that you've updated your blog. This is especially important if you own a business blog because it allows you to quickly and easily notify several sites at once.
One caveat though: you should only use these applications to update the directories of new posts to your blog. Don't use them to notify the directories that you have an RSS feed for your site. You'll get banned.
Pingomatic - http://www.pingomatic.comPingoat - http://www.pingoat.com
7. RSS PromotionAlthough blog and ping is great for notifying the directories that you've updated your blog, you usually need to submit your RSS feed to the directories first before using the update tools.
Feedsubmitter - http://www.feedsubmitter.com - is a free tool you can use to help you get your feed indexed quickly. This will save you some time because you don't have to visit each site to get your site indexed.
Although I can't give you any ideas to write about (although I will if you want to pay my consulting fee :) blogs are a great way to meet new people and expand your business.

Got Blog? By : Dawn Wentworth

Got Blog?By: Dawn Wentworth

In 1999 I asked my friends and colleagues if they blogged. The responses I received ranged from odd looks to questions about the blogging practice. The end results of my findings was “Blog” was a new term and not highly recognized. That was then, a half million blog users ago.
Blogs have become and I do believe will continue into their plight of greatness for sometime, until a new technology slides into place. For the time being, blogs are a great way to define who you are to your visitors and provide dynamic content that the search engines go nuts over.
Clogged email boxes and spam eaters have taken a dramatic effect on the once powerful email marketing tool. As email marketing loses its effect, marketers and small businesses are seeking ways to fulfill this lost art of communication between staff and customers. Blogging could be that much needed answer for you.
SO what is a blog?
Blogs are a time and date stamped, easy to search, web based journal or self publishing tool. Blogs can have a corporate style, but in most cases are written by one person in a relaxed, candid atmosphere. True personality usually shines threw in the opinions of the blog writer. You do not have to be a writer to produce a blog. Even so, many blogs owners become recognized as small journalists, as the writer speaks their mind or offers self analyzed materials on their preferred subject matters.
You may think at this point, that a blog does not sound like a business tool.
Let’s take blogging into a business approach and see how we can benefit.
Problem: Many marketing methods and advertising spiels fall on blind eyes and deaf ears across the net today with such a medium we have created where advertising is abundant and often shoved at us in every direction.
Solution: Visitors will come to your blog of their free will to read your newest content of choice, giving you a higher ratio of targeted visits.
Problem: Email marketing is losing ground. Overflowing email inboxes and spam filters that don’t deliver your ezine.
Solution: Using your blog as a web based area for your product and service announcements and updates. When someone subscribes to your blog or RSS feed, they will receive automatic updates that include the headline, summery and URL of your new entries.
Bonus: Email gets deleted … Blogs get indexed in search engines!
Problem: Internet marketing can be a non-personal medium, gaining trust becomes increasingly harder and more important to gain new customers.
Solution: Blogging can give your visitors, existing and potential customers a great area to gain insight about the face you present to the world. If you’re a small business owner to a large corporate business, you can benefit by giving your company or web site personality via blog.
Now let’s take a look at blogs from another angle. Rss and/or live feed. You may be thinking, do I Really Need to Know About Rss?
Yes, but we are not going to give a full history of RSS here. What you need to know is that RSS is the “code” that underlies a blog. It includes a headline, a short summery of the entry and the URL of the page that the new story has been posted to. In order for users to subscribe to RSS feeds they will need to download a news aggregator. There are many available for free, we recommend NewsGator http://www.newsgator.com for its ease of use within Microsoft Outlook.
Visitors and other websites can syndicate your RSS feeds to their desktop, their email, newsreaders and on their own websites. Talk about getting the word around! Submitting your RSS feed, can get you listed in hundreds of new emerging RSS feed directories. Of course this will bring traffic to see what your feed is about to those looking to syndicate them to their own sites or readers. Also creating more links pointing to your site.
Let me touch on one of the most important features of a blog. Search engines love them. Most bots including google will visit and reindex blog pages daily. Yahoo will index your RSS free and quickly.
There are many ways and places you can begin your blogging journey. You should first decide if you want to house the blog on your site or let other sites manage your blog system. For this we recommend www.blogger.com, now owned by Google. The google toolbar has a one click Blog This button that can make blogging quick and painless. You can set the blogger.com blog files to ftp to your host for you so that your files are housed on your server. There are many blog services online today, and there are many free and low cost scripts that you can easily run your own blog from your site without the need of any other service provider.
We hope to provide many learning materials and resources for the online promoter using blogs and rss feeds for the online advertising medium.

Are You Content With Your Blog Content? Avoid the 5 Blog Bloopers that Will KILL Your Credibility By : Dina Giolitto

Are You Content With Your Blog Content? Avoid the 5 Blog Bloopers that Will KILL Your CredibilityBy: Dina Giolitto

Blog Blooper 1. Not branding yourself.
How will people who land on your blog via the links and search engine results know who you are unless you tell them? Try to close every blog entry you write with a signoff or call-to-action. Example: "Need a copywriter? Email dina@wordfeeder.com." This way, no matter what your fans are reading, they'll be reminded of you, your website and what you can offer them.
Blog Blooper 2. Sharing too much personal information.
If you're blogging for business, stick to business. Sure, it's okay to reveal a few amusing details now and then... but if you gab too much on your blog, all you'll succeed in doing is attract other gabbers. Remember your purpose in all this, and keep your topics closely geared fulfilling the business needs of your target audience.
Blog Blooper 3. Too many links to competitor sites.
Your fans will love you for sharing resources, and if you link to "friendly neighborhood service providers like yourself", this will endear those marketers to you and your blog and prompt reciprocal links back. However, be sure to choose your outbound links wisely. Select complimentary service providers... not ones who offer exactly what you do!
Blog Blooper 4. Not enough "spice."
Post an intriguing or controversial viewpoint, and your readers are more likely to jump into the conversation with posted comments. The more activity on your blog, the more people are "following along" as the plot develops, and the more repeat visitors you'll get. If everyone's flocking to your blog, that means better page rank for you. So please do "spice it up!"
Blog Blooper 5. All "pickup articles," no personality.
Hey, now there's a great way to develop your web style - only post other people's tips, stories and advice. Nothing like drawing a crowd and then sending them away to other folks' website because you never took the time to reveal your opinions, advice, or even your line of business for that matter! Sure, search engines feed on article content, but you MUST develop your blog persona or you will NEVER get business!
Okay, now that we've laid down the blogging laws, it's time for you to hit the blogosphere and make a name for yourself. Start from scratch and have fun with it. I know you can blog like a web marketing pro.
